Following the March 15, 2019 attacks on worshippers in Christchurch, New Zealand, the Islamic Society of Belleville published a message of condolence for those killed and support for survivors and their families.

In Belleville, City representatives visited the masjid, and local churches held events to show solidarity with the Muslim community and denounce hate. The masjid’s contemporaneous statement expressed gratitude for the community’s compassion, condemned Islamophobia and bigotry, and offered prayers for the victims, survivors, and their families.
